Description:
Youth are leading their own home counties
to higher properity by improving the marketing your community in
the information age requires community stakeholders to think outside
of the box. Applications of new technologies such as the Internet,
Global Positioning Systems and Geographic Information Systems are
providing new options for getting the attractive of our communities
in front of the eyes of the families who can be attracted to our
communities in small towns and rural areas. The objective of the
session will be to demonstrate the new "4-H Youth Favorite
Places" interactive atlas of attractions in small towns and
rural areas, and hear how new tourism dollars are beginning to flow
into communities that are participating in the new interactive atlas.
The A/V case study will describe the process of getting tech savvy
youth involved in collecting, developing and managing multi-media
data bases of attractions that will pull in new community revenues.
