Marketing Your Community - In the On-Line Atlas

Description:
Youth are leading their own home counties to higher properity by improving the marketing your community in the information age requires community stakeholders to think outside of the box. Applications of new technologies such as the Internet, Global Positioning Systems and Geographic Information Systems are providing new options for getting the attractive of our communities in front of the eyes of the families who can be attracted to our communities in small towns and rural areas. The objective of the session will be to demonstrate the new "4-H Youth Favorite Places" interactive atlas of attractions in small towns and rural areas, and hear how new tourism dollars are beginning to flow into communities that are participating in the new interactive atlas. The A/V case study will describe the process of getting tech savvy youth involved in collecting, developing and managing multi-media data bases of attractions that will pull in new community revenues.
