The eleven-member Board of Directors is composed of four representatives from Extension (three from 1862 institutions and one from an 1890 institution) and four representatives from research (three from 1862 institutions and one from an 1890 institution). One permanent, non land-grant representative is from the Farm Foundation, and two other non land-grand representatives are selected from the private sector. Each board member serves for a term of four years.
