Dr. Sullivan specializes in the economics of banking markets and payments. He has published studies on the relationship between bank ownership structure and operating efficiency, profitability in interstate banking, bank lending to small businesses, and the impact of electronic banking on bank performance. He is currently conducting research on determinants of a bank’s decision to adopt Internet banking, on the relationship between ownership structure and bank risk, and on the supervision of nonbank payment providers.
