Tracking Orders
A great feature that many companies offer is the ability for the customer to track orders during shipping. The seller's website may include a link to the tracking information, as provided by the shipping company. The buyer can then view the exact dates and times when the package cleared key checkpoints, such as distribution centers, until the package arrives. This is an important feature for purchasers and serves as a great way to provide customer service throughout the purchase and delivery period. This also provides important documentation that you can use to resolve any potential conflicts with customers or shippers.
Finally, the seller's website should provide a record of payment; that is, a receipt. In most cases, the shopping cart or payment system will have a screen that provides the final transaction details including the purchase price, applicable taxes and shipping fees, and the total amount of the transaction. This screen can be printed as a receipt. Alternatively, or maybe additionally, the system may send the same information as an email message. This can be saved in the user's email software and printed if needed.
