Who Should Attend?

Registration is limited to the first 40 applicants. Because of this limited space availability, priority consideration will be given to Extension educators in the South, rural community college faculty working in partnership with land-grant universities on the Rural Community College Initiative, and members of the Southern Consortium of University Public Service Organizations (SCUPSO).

Registration and Lodging Information

The training begins on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 at 1 p.m. and adjourns at noon on Friday, Sept. 17. The registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 27. Cancellations refunds cannot be made after this date.

The training will be held at the Scarritt-Bennett Center, 1008 19th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212 (directions and map). This retreat center is located in the heart of Nashville on ten tree-filled acres.

Participants will have individual (single) sleeping rooms; each room shares a bathroom with one other room (one bathroom per suite). Participants will need to designate a suitemate on the registration form; otherwise, suitemates will be assigned.

Transportation

The Scarritt-Bennett Center does not provide any private transportation to or from the airport. Two options are suggested:

  • Gray Line Express

    Hours of operation: 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. daily

    Reservations are not necessary from the Nashville International Airport to Scarritt-Bennett. The Gray Line Express counter is located one level below baggage claim. For your return trip to the airport, reservations are required. It has been requested by Gray Line Express that the time for pickup be 1.5 hours prior to your flight time.

  • Registration Fee -- $225

  • Lodging, Meals and Breaks -- $360

  • Total -- $585
