Data Sites BUREAU OF ECONOMIC ANALYSIS, REGIONAL ACCOUNTS DATA-have access to the most requested series, new releases, series reports, FTP, and economy at a glance. BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS DATA-the principal fact-finding agency for the federal government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other federal agencies, state and local governments, business, and labor. The BLS also serves as a statistical resource to the Department of Labor. THE CATALOG OF FEDERAL DOMESTIC ASSISTANCE-a searchable database of federal programs. CURRENT POPULATION SURVEY DATA-a monthly survey of about 50,000 households conducted by the Bureau of the Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The survey has been conducted for more than 50 years. ECONOMIC RESEARCH SERVICE DATA PRODUCTS-compile current and historical data for research and analysis in a variety of formats, including Lotus WKI spreadsheets, ASCII text files, and compressed Zip file collections. All products are free from the USDA Economics and Statistics System. EMPLOYMENT PROJECTIONS-develops information about the labor market for the nation as a whole for 10 years in the future: labor force trends by sex, race or Hispanic origin, and age; employment trends by industry and occupation; and the implications of these data for employment opportunities for specific groups in the labor force. FACTFINDER-operated by US Census Bureau, it can be used to select data tabulations and maps from the data sets available in the system. Choices are subject to the data available in the system and the strict confidentiality standards of the Census Bureau. American FactFinder will continue to expand and improve functionality and add data during 1999 and 2000. FEDSTATS: REGIONAL STATISTICS-more than 70 agencies in the US federal government produce statistics of interest to the public. The federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy maintains this site to provide easy access to the full range of stats and information produced by these agencies for public use. GEOSTAT, GEOSPATIAL AND STATISTICAL DATA CENTER-this resource provides WWW access to the electronic versions of the 1988 and 1994 county and city data books. INTER-UNIVERSITY CONSORTIUM FOR POLITICAL AND SOCIAL RESEARCH (ICPSR)-provides access to the world's largest archive of computerized social science data, training facilities for the study of quantitative social analysis techniques, and resources for social scientists using advanced computer technologies. THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR CHILDREN IN POVERTY -recently released the 2000 edition of Map and Track: State Initiatives for Young Children and Families. The executive summary, 51 state profiles, selected tables and maps, and media resources are available on this site. NATIONAL CURRENT EMPLOYMENT STATISTICS-a monthly survey conducted by state employment security agencies in cooperation with the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The survey provides employment, hours and earnings estimates based on payroll records of business establishments.
