Philanthropic Foundations ANNIE E. CASEY FOUNDATION-dedicated to benefit disadvantaged children and their families. Grant making is limited to initiatives that demonstrate innovative policy, service delivery, and community supports for children and families. Multiple or Single year funding. Most grants, and all major initiatives, are by invitation. Average grant size is $160,000. FORD FOUNDATION-goals are to strengthen democratic values, reduce poverty and injustice, promote international cooperation, and advance human achievement. THE FOUNDATION CENTER ONLINE-independent nonprofit information clearinghouse established in 1956. The center's mission is to foster public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and and related subjects. FOUNDATION FOR THE MID SOUTH-efforts focused in three program areas: education, economic development, and families and children. The work within each area has helped to foster a regional commitment, develop leadership, remove internal barriers and promote networks. MARY REYNOLDS BABCOCK FOUNDATION-concentrates on assisting people in the South to build communities - just and caring communities - that nurture people, spur enterprise, bridge differences, foster fairness and promote civility. ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON FOUNDATION-mission is to improve the health and health care of all Americans. It means keeping our commitment to the American people in everything we do from encouraging healthier living and the conditions that promote better health to promoting positive changes in the way health care is delivered in this country. |
