SERA-37 Vision

Our vision is to help Cooperative Extension Service (CES) in the Southern region better meet the demands of the rapidly changing demographics in our states. To this end, we are planning a multistate program that will train and equip CES personnel in both how to reach Hispanic clientele, and how to train and equip others in our communities to better serve this audience. Components include recruitment strategies, cultural awareness, identification of reliable resources, and a strong research/evaluation component in order measure our progress.

SERA-37 Goal

Our ultimate goal would be to significantly increase programming efforts with Hispanic populations across all areas of CES expertise, and to become an important resource to community partners in the area of multicultural training as evidenced by significantly increased requests for programs and trainings.

Purpose of the Conference

The SERA-37 will compose a five year strategic plan to include:

  • An assessment of the professional needs of the membership of SERA-37 in order to foster participation.
  • Strategies for involving new key individuals who may add value to the work of SERA-37.
  • Strategic organization of the task forces to align with program goals.
  • The development of a logic model and a time line to guide our work.
