Course Review
At its core, business management is the same as it has been for hundreds of years. Good managers produce their products efficiently, market them appropriately, finance the business to leverage debt and grow equity, and take care of their human resources, who help to produce, market, and finance the business's products. Although the fundamentals are the same, the environment is very different than it was even ten years ago. electronic tools to evaluate and possibly implement into the farm business. The Internet and all of its related applications can make management more effective, but their application requires careful consideration. Is a particular application appropriate for you? Is it cost effective? Is it profitable?
We hope that what you have read throughout this course has encouraged you to explore new technologies and that you have developed some ideas about how to incorporate them into your business management toolkit. The Internet provides many tools to help you communicate more effectively, but you must not lose all personal contact. Many times, the old-fashioned one-on-one types of communications are best. The focus remains on clear and effective communication and the potential efficiencies gained from using the Internet to improve and facilitate communication.
