Having Someone Else Build Your Site
Since most people are not Web site designers and may not want to learn new skills, using a professional designer can be a good option. Here are some good reasons why you might hire a professional:
- Putting together a Web site that reflects highly on your business requires a significant amount of time and money.
- Lots of businesses pay others to design Web sites for them. This allows them to:
- Look at several different layouts / styles.
- Review the Web site before it goes “live.”
- Have it designed by someone more artistic than them!
- Costs of having a professional build your site vary greatly. Some ballpark estimates: $300 for a homepage, $100 for each additional page.
- It is important to evaluate who you are hiring.
- Ask to see other sites they have worked on.
- You can ask to speak to former clients to get an idea of how easy they are to work with.
Remember: A good Web developer can save you time and money – and headaches!
