Module Summary

There are many methods to market your business website. These include getting your website registered with search engines, developing banner advertisements for inclusion on other web sites, creating positive media exposure, developing relationships with professional organizations, getting your site listed on other web sites, printing your website on product labels, and incorporating your website address into existing marketing materials. The methods you choose to employ will depend on the purpose for your website, the marketing budget you have available, and the target audience you are after.

Some marketing methods, such as creating positive media exposure, joining professional associations, and getting listed on other websites may be less costly to implement than others, such as developing banner ads or reprinting marketing materials. In addition, positive media exposure and professional contacts may hold more in reward for you than solely generating traffic to your website.

Website marketing is a continuous activity. You've got to keep your target audience aware that your website exists and is something they should check out. Make website marketing a regular responsibility for yourself or an employee. There are numerous options for assistance with website marketing; take advantage of these options if you are unsure of where to start or how to perform one (or more) of the marketing methods discussed here.
