Electronic Communication Options
If you didn't already appreciate the importance of communication, its importance should be clear now. As a business owner, you must communicate with many different groups of people. You must also provide and receive communication of many different types. Often, “old-fashioned” (that is, non-electronic) communication is best. Being personable will help to distinguish you from your competitors. Having a live discussion, either face-to-face or on the phone, may be the best way to communicate at times. A hand-written note may mean the difference between landing an important client or losing them. However, limiting yourself to these methods will hinder your ability to reach a broad audience with your message.
On the following pages, we discuss many different electronic communication tools. We also provide examples to highlight ways to apply these methods.
