Small rural firms must consider new ways for the customer to experience their business and offerings that are fresh, different, and fun (Lisanti, 1997).  In so doing, they will add greater (experiential) value for the customer, uniquely position and differentiate themselves in the marketplace, and strengthen their competitiveness.
