Site Map

Hopefully by now you have collected a list of content that you would be interested in having as part of your site. Now it is time to pull out the site map you drafted and begin filling it in with the actual content.

For every page, you should consider the following:

  • What text is needed to convey the message we want to send?
Who will compile that text? By when?
  • Do we need photos, maps, forms or other materials to make this page work?
Who will compile those materials? By when?
  • Are there links to other sites that need to be included?
Who will identify those links? Who will obtain permission? By when?

Tip: You may want to continue using sticky notes for each of these pages so that you can move them around easily as you continue to organize your site. When you finally have the site organized the way you want, take some digital photos of the map. Then, if something should happen to the original, you will have an easy way to reconstruct it.
