Sustaining Interest in Your Site

Maintaining the site over time is a constant struggle for many rural communities.

Some have had success by having people volunteer for a “board” whose job it is to update the site. Two or three people can handle this, but they should meet regularly and have interaction with the rest of the community so the site reflects what is going on locally.

Sustainability is probably the single best argument for hiring someone to do the site management.

BUT the key to a useful and interesting site is fresh content, and that must come from the community!
